Since 1921, the Durham (NC) Alumni Chapter of Kappa alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. has been a source of leadership and inspiration in the proud city of Durham, North Carolina and in our state and nation. Building upon the founding principles of our revered Fraternity, Durham (NC) Alumni has Achieved a reputation for leadership and excellence in our educational, civic, religious and political institutions and in all areas that serve to improve and benefit human kind. As we boldly face the future, we maintain an unswerving commitment to continue our rightful roles of leadership in the important issues and arenas of our social milieu. 

Our history is replete with examples of men whose lives and contributions exemplify the highest ideals of culture, patriotism, and honor that have achieved in every field of endeavor. As you read our history, your will see that our members have been recognized locally, nationally, and internationally by our Fraternity for their numerous accomplishments and contributions. Their leadership and concern for the spiritual, social, intellectual and moral welfare of the members of the Fraternity continues to inspire us all to higher levels of excellence.

A significant aspect of our mission is “Training for Leadership” for the challenges and opportunities of the future. To that end, Durham (NC) Alumni is proud to be engaged with mentoring and guidance for undergraduate members of our Fraternity at North Carolina Central University (Alpha Kappa), The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill (Theta Omicron), and Duke University (Iota Xi), all of whom have very distinguished records of leadership and involvement in our communities.
